General Guidelines
Submissions
All submissions should be sent through the submissions portal in the format of a Word document.
What to Include
Authors will be asked for a title, abstract, keywords, article metadata, funding disclosure, and author ORCID iDs before submission. Authors will also need to include the abstract and keywords in the body of the article (at the top). Please use section headers where possible. A separate data file should include the data for the peer review process.
Anonymizing the Manuscript
JCA uses double-anonymous review, meaning all submission documents must be completely anonymized. Author names and any other potential indicators of authorship (such as personal data repositories, etc.) should be removed.
JCA strongly discourages authors from depositing articles in pre-print archives prior to a peer-review assessment as this can compromise the anonymous review process.
Style Guidelines
Submissions should follow MLA style. For further instructions, see the JCA style guide.
All graphs, tables, and illustrations should be embedded directly in the document where they are referenced in the text (not at the end) with captions. Formatting should be minimal.
